An outstanding senior will be making his final appearance at the 24th Poland Invitational, Vincent “Vinny”  Mauri has had an outstanding record-setting career at Howland High School. Vincent has signed with Arizona State University to run track and cross country. Among his many accomplishments at Howland Vinny is a 3 time qualifier in cross country, his best finish at state was 4th in 2018 in a time of 15:57.8. He ran an amazing 14.54.8 at the OHSAA District meet in 2018. In track, Vinny ran a 9:04.59 at the state track meet in June 2018 placing 2nd. Vinny’s PRs now are 800-1:54.78, 1600-4:09.42 (Milesplit/SPIRE Scholastic Showcase 2-10-2019 -currently the fastest time in the state indoors), and 3200-9:04.59. Last spring at the Trumbull County Track meet Vinny took 1st place in the 800, the 1600 and the 3200, the first Trumbull County track athlete to accomplish that feat. Vinny currently hold 2 school records with an eye toward setting more (to include his own). We look forward to seeing Vinny on Saturday April 27th at Poland Seminary High School Stadium.
